To all the mommy's with angels up above.
I found this on one of my friend's blogs and it really touched me. I just thought I would share.
What Makes a Mother
I thought of you and closed my eyes.
And prayed to God today.
I asked what makes a mother
and I know I heard him say,
A mother has a baby.
This we know is true.
But God, can you be a mother
when your baby's not with you?
Yes, you can,
He replied with confidence in His voice.
I give many women babies.
When they leave is not their choice.
Some I send for a lifetime and others for a day.
And some I send to feel your womb
but there's no need to stay.
I just don't understand this.
God, I want my baby here.
He took a breath and cleared His throat
and then I saw a tear.
I wish I could show you
what your child is doing today.
If you could see your child smile
with other children and say,
"We go to earth to learn our
lessons of life and love and fear.
My Mommy loved me,
Oh so much, I got to come straight here.
I feel so lucky to have a Mom
who had so much love for me,
I learned my lesson very quickly.
My Mommy set me free.
I miss my Mommy,
Oh so much,
but I visit her each day.
When she goes to sleep,
on her pillow's where I lay.
I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek
and whisper in her ear,
'Mommy don't be sad today,
I'm your baby and I'm here.'
"So you see, my dear sweet one,
your children are okay.
Your babies are here in MY home
and this is where they'll stay.
They'll wait for you with ME
until your lesson is through.
And on the day that you come home,
they'll be at the gates for you.
So now you see what makes a Mother
—It's the feeling in your heart.
It's the love you had so much of,
right from the very start.
Though some on earth may
not realize you are a Mother,
until their time is done.
They'll be up here with ME one day,
and know you're the best one.

CHoRes!
I have, over the course of several months realized Madeline's potential as chore doer. We started with unloading the silverware from the dishwasher, cleaning her room and making her bed, to vacuuming and dusting. I love that she can help do the mundane things and it can get finished so much faster. She loves it as well. Some chores she gets paid for and others you just do because you are part of the family. We decided to start allowance to start teaching her the importance of money. She is learning to save, pay tithing and spend! She loves spending. So far all she has bought are 3 cell phones. Don't ask me why she wanted to keep buying cell phones because I have no idea. I guess she always found a better one. I hope by starting this early we avoid some problems in the future. I can hope right!?!

What a rocky day!
Today we are trying to clear the back acre so we can plant grass. It was tough work and we are probably about a 1/4 finished. Phew! It will be a long couple of weeks. It will be nice when we are all finished though.
Kendall is amazing I had to beg him to stop for the afternoon!
Madeline helped the WHOLE time. Now how many 3 year olds do that? I know I didn't when I was that age.

Our rock piles!! We are so proud of them.

The start of the BLOG

So I have decided that we need a blog. It will be a journal of our lives. We have had an exciting year of ...hmm I guess the best word to describe it would be unknowns. Lots and lots of them. After many prayers we decided to start a construction business. Kendall LOVES building and doesn't quite feel complete unless he is building. So we built a spec home which we are trying to sell. As we were building a local realtor came to us with a propostion to sell us his ground already zoned for a subdivision. He gave us an incredible deal and we felt like this was where the Lord was directing us. Now we are waiting for the spec home to sell so we can direct the money to the building townhomes. We know that it will work out in God's time we just need to have faith. We know what we are doing is the right thing.
The next unknown has been babies. Are we going to be able to have more? After a miscarriage over a year ago and no luck getting pregnant we have been trying to decide what to do. As I was searching in the scriptures for some answers it came to me in John 14:1
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. " Verse 27 "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
I have to say this is the first time that I have had one of those clearly defined answers from the scriptures. So despite the unknowns we feel like God is in charge and he knows what is best. It is not unknown to him.
In the meantime Madeline is growing like a weed. She is so close to turning four it scares me. How did she grow up so fast? She wants to do everything like me. If I am going to wear a white shirt, then she is going to wear a white shirt as well. If I am having a bowl of cereal she want the same kind. Her first question to me is "What are you eating? Okay I will have that." She is so full of love for Kendall and I that she reminds us of what is important. She was sent to us for a reason and we love her so.
