May Update

We have had a wonderful month.

Here are some highlights of what we have been up to.

Max is growing like a weed.

At his last appointment he weighed 14.2 lbs and was 23 inches long.
He is in the 85th percentile for weight!
You go Max!
He is in the 50th for height.

He is such a sweet guy and loves to cuddle. He is starting to rock when he is lying down so we are getting closer to rolling over. He smiles a lot and is sleeping all night. We couldn't ask for a better baby.
We are completely in love with our little man.

I was out with my friends this night and I came home to find both my guys passed out. Kendall had taken a benedryl and passed out at 7:00 pm.

Our little niece who just turned one decided she wanted to mother baby Max. She wouldn't let him get off of her lap. Never mind the fact that he is almost the same size. She loved it.

My brother Landen received his eagle scout award so we all had dinner to celebrate.
Congratulations Landen! (As you can see he is so excited.)

My sister Sarah is now engaged to be married in August.
This is her fiancee, Aaron. He is a pretty great guy.

Do you remember this post about Madeline's story she entered in the PBS kids contest?

Well she won 2nd place!

They had an award ceremony and had all the kids read their story for everybody.

This is Madeline reading her story. She was so brave! That would have scared me even now.

See those two little girls in front? They are the other kindergartners that won. They are so tiny. The little girl with the cowboy hat won first place. She had a pretty cute story.

Here is Madeline with her award. They gave her a bag full of books and movies.

The kids were even featured on the news. Madeline was all bent over looking at her stuff so we tease her that her butt was on tv.

The morning news called and asked to do a write up on her with a picture.
Congratulations Madeline!! Great job!

Anna's Wedding

My sister Anna got married on April 30th. I have finally found time to post the pictures. My friend Courtney took the pictures for the wedding and they turned out very good. Here are just a few.

Temple Day!

On Saturday our family was able to go the Temple and be sealed as a family for time and all eternity.

For all my friend who are not members of our religion (we are LDS or mormons), I will explain what this means.
In our religion we believe that we can be married in the LDS Temple and we will be together forever. Our marriage ceremonies do not say "until death do us part". Kendall and I were married in the Temple 7 1/2 years ago and any child that is born to us will be sealed to us, but any child we adopt needs to go with us to the temple and be sealed.

It was such a beautiful experience. As soon as we walked in they knew who we were and were ready to take us into the temple and get ready for our day.

They treated Madeline like a princess and the lovely ladies took Madeline and Max to the nursery to wait while we got ready.

Kendall and I met with the man who was performing our sealing and he was very excited to do it for us. The reason for this was that his family had experienced the very same thing.
They had a child soon after they were married and couldn't have anymore for years. So they finally adopted when their son was 7 years old.
So he was very tender towards our experience.
He mentioned that after the sealing it would be as if Max were born in the covenant, (like Madeline was). He said that Max has waited for a long time to come to our family and had to come by a different way.

It was such an amazing day and Max truly is part of our family. We have known that from the very first day we got him.

This was one of the most special days our family has experienced.
God knows our family and every thing we went through had a purpose.
