Memorial Day

Thank you to the soldiers who sacrifice for us.

Kendall ran a marathon!

Kendall ran his first marathon!  

He has been training since January and he amazed us all by running it under 4 hours which was his goal!

The kids and I made signs and followed him around the course.  

Some of our signs said-

"Toenails are for sissies" ( one of my favorites since Kendall has lost about 3 toenails to running.)

"Chuck Norris never ran a marathon"

"26.2 miles..... since 26.3 is just CRAZY!"

"mortuary ahead look alive!"

and

last but not least

My mom was awesome and spent the morning with us and helped me herd kids.

He finished in 3 hours and 47 minutes.  An awesome time for his very first time!   

Here he is after the race.  He looks pretty darn good for running 26.2 miles!

We are so proud of you!

Walking

While Madeline is in school, Max and I try to get out and go for a walk.  The cows were very interested in us this day so we stopped and made faces at them.  

Max made this face.  He is the king of goofy faces.

He likes to chill while we walk.

Max was riding in his car and happened to notice his reflection in the car.

For family night we went for a "hike" but it was more like a laid back walk because the trail was paved and Max liked to stop and look at all the bugs. 

 A bonus was that we saw two rabbits.

Field Trip

I was lucky enough to be able to attend Madeline's field trip with her.  She was so excited to ride the bus.  Who knew the bus ride could be so exciting?   

We sat by each other on the way down and Madeline and the little boy next to me decided to see who could sing the 50 states song the fastest.  He won because he didn't feel the need to sing the tune.  Madeline still wanted to hold her notes.  So she lost.  But it was close. 

 It was a FUN ride ! 

It was quite the feat trying to keep track of these five hooligans.  Doesn't that little guy look like Alfalfa on 'Little Rascals'?

  I'll bet he could say sweet nothings to Darla in the same voice.  

Max Loves.....

Max is obsessed with trains.  

So we took him for a drive to see the trains and we stopped when we saw one loading more cars.

Max loved it!

The train conductor saw us and honked and waved and made Max and Madeline's day.  Mostly Max but Madeline was impressed too.

Max also got to help Dad and Grandpa with the loader the other day and he was in heaven.   He loves tractors too! 

New Baby

My beautiful sister had her baby girl a few weeks ago and she let me take her pictures.   Isn't she a beautiful baby?

Madeline now has a girl cousin on my side of the family!  She is so excited!
