Dancing

Madeline had some sort of dance routine going on with the stools and Taylor Swift and Max decided to cut in.   I love it when I can get pictures without them noticing.

I LOVE this picture.  It totally describes their relationship.  They love and adore each other.... most of the time.

One of my favorite mess makers...

Can I just say that I am loving the stage Max is in?

It has been 6 years since we have had a one year old to tear up our house.
It is so fun to see what Max will tear apart and to watch his curiosity.
Since pictures are way more fun than words, I will simply just show you the fun he has been up too!

Here is the first mess I will show you, but first you need to hear about the whole morning leading up to this mess.
I am usually trying to get everybody ready by myself, because of Kendall's new calling.  So Max was in the bathroom while I showered so I could keep an eye on him.   Usually he does pretty good and will just play with the toys I bring in, but this morning he was not interested in the toys.  No, he wanted to play in the toilet.  So here I am with shampoo in my hair and hands, telling Max "no no" in my most threatening voice.   He just looks at me and grins as he proceeds to put Madeline's shirt in the toilet.  It is like he knows when I am helpless to stop him.
Then he proceeds to dump the cotton balls all over the floor, turn the tub on full blast, so my shower is losing all of it's water pressure and I am still sudsy.
We finish the shower and move on to the rest of our day.  I proceed to get dressed and while I am doing that he goes into the other bathroom and plays with the toilet paper.

I followed the toilet paper down the hall and into the living room where he sat wrapped up in it like a mummy.  I couldn't get him to hold still for a picture.  He tore off the paper and ran away.

Next escapade....

I opened up my whites to find my black leather shoe sitting right there on top.

Max must have put it in the laundry basket and nobody noticed it.

And yes, you guessed it...
he decorated this room ALL BY HIMSELF!

Also he knows how to put on sunglasses.

But we love him!

He loves to throw things in his diaper pail.
I have found new diapers wadded up, and a few toys, just to name a few.

Don't you just love those lips.
He knows how to talk on the phone.

And did you know he is 13 months old!?!

Fun Dip

Yesterday Madeline found some Fun Dip Valentine's candy.  Max followed her around forever begging for a bite.   She eventually decided to share.  The green mouths were too cute to pass up a picture taking moment.  I love these two!

Max's first year video

I made this video of Max's first year for his birth mom Kristy.
It took me a while because I wanted the perfect song.  I found it when we attended the Michael McLean fireside.  So listen carefully to the first song.
It described all the feelings we felt when Kristy gave us Max.
He is such a special little guy.
Everyone loves and adores him.  He gets special attention wherever he goes, people are drawn to him.
I call him the healing baby, because he healed our hearts.

It is a long video, because it was a whole year's worth of pictures and it only gave me ten minutes on photobucket, so it cuts out in the end. But I am just glad it finally works.

Max's 1st Birthday

Our little man is one!!   I can't believe he is that old.
We had a great party!
I usually make all the cakes in this family but this year, I knew the day was going to be crazy busy so my friend Kara told me about this awesome lady that does custom cakes.
She was awesome and was totally fine with the last minute order.
Kendall insisted that the cake have motorcycles and she made this amazing cake!
It tasted awesome as well.  I hate store bought cakes, so I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious this cake was.   It was white cake with a berry filling.  YUM!

Max loved all the attention, he is such a ham.

Madeline took the honors of blowing out the candle.

Time to dig into his very own cake!

As you can see he got pretty excited about it and grabbed it....

but then he didn't like the feeling of it.

Will somebody else please take this cake?

It feels weird.

We finally cut him a slice and gave him a bite and he really liked it!

He had a great night and enjoyed all of his presents.
Now onto what Kendall got him for his first birthday....
A jumbo fun ball!
No, I was not involved in this decision.
This is what happens when Kendall and my brother Derek get together to purchase a birthday gift.

Right now Max has a love hate relationship with the ball.  He has been knocked over a few times and gotten stuck inside a few times, hence the hate part of the relationship.  But when Madeline plays with him in it he loves it!
