Family Night

For Family Night we went bowling after our lesson.   Madeline had never been before so this was a first for her.  She loved it!  She even did better than me.  I have never claimed to be a great bowler.   I took one of the balls that was for the 10 year olds and younger so I could at least lift it!  I believe at the end of the night the score was Madeline 75, Katy 73 and Kendall 138.   After the game we went out for ice cream.
You have to love nasty bowling shoes.

That ball inched its way down the lane.

The man.

Family Pictures!

Yesterday we got some family pictures taken.  The weather was awesome!    My sister Sarah offered to be the woman behind the camera.  She is so sweet.  Here are some collages I put together.

This one is my favorite!

Our sassy pose.

Our oh so serious pose.  I love Madeline's face in this one.

Snow!?!

It snowed all weekend here. If you recall back in June I had a post about snow. We had 4 months of snow free weather. There are twelve months in year. Does that seem fair? In my ideal world it would snow for the month of Christmas and maybe one more month after that only so my wonderful husband can get in his winter sports. But two months no more. The rest of the year it would be 75 degrees. (sigh) That would be nice.
Kendall took Madeline outside to build a snowman.
I was in charge of the eyes, nose, mouth and hair. He looks pretty darn good if you ask me. He is also very edible with grape eyes, carrot nose, and noodles for the mouth and hair.

What we've been up to...

When it is cold outside I love to bake.  Madeline and I made rolls for Sunday dinner last week.  They were super yummy.   Madeline was a good butter spreader.
On Wednesday Madeline and I decided our house needed some Halloween decor.  We bought some pumpkins and these handy dandy pumpkin tattoos.   They were really easy to put on and Madeline had fun.

The odd picture for today.

Today we were on our way to take pictures for a realtor when we saw this. We started laughing just because it was such a strange sight. We had to turn around and get a picture. I mean how often to you find a dog boating on an old lot in town? The things you find in our town!

Another Utah trip

We went to Utah on Thursday for some business and I got a picture of the house I fell out of when I was two years old.  It was one of those two windows on the top floor.  I was jumping on the bed and my mom came up stairs and told me to get off because I could hurt myself.  She opened the window and left.    As soon as she left I got back on the bed and started jumping again.  As I was jumping I thought I heard her coming up the stairs so I proceeded to jump off of the bed.  Well I had a little bit too much velocity and out the window I went.   My dad was downstairs and saw me through the window.  The ambulance came and took me to the hospital.  I had a fractured head and a black eye but other than that I was okay.    Now that I am a mother I can't imagine seeing my little girl fall that far.  Yikes!

While we were there we stopped at the aquarium in Sandy.  It was so fun!

Our captain.
This was one of the weirdest fish there.  We will just call him Hairy.
Here are Nemo and Dorrie.
The jelly fish were awesome.  My picture came out blurry. (Darn it)   They turn from pink to blue in 10 seconds.  It was so cool.    They even let you touch the sting rays, star fish, crabs, and sea cucumbers.  Madeline wouldn't touch anything.

We also went to IKEA.  That store is AMAZING.  You could spend hours there.  We spent probably a 1/2 hour.  I am really not much of a shopper but I could imagine others spending hours there.  The store is huge.
