The ZOO.

My brother Derek and his wife Stephanie invited us to go to the zoo with them one Saturday afternoon.

Max thought everything was just okay.   He also doesn't believe strollers are in his best interest the way his parents think they are.  

Fourth of July

We started our Fourth of July with our now annual breakfast at my parent's house.

We had pancakes, bacon, sausage, and eggs.  After breakfast we sang the national anthem and raised the flag.   It is a great way to start our celebration of our country.

Mom read a story of from the 40's about celebrating the holiday.

Max got tied up.

After a yummy breakfast we went to Kendall's parents house for a barbecue.  

The kids played in the sand and got filthy and the adults visited.

Kendall's dad read the Declaration of Independence to the family.  

That evening we went to my grandparents house for more food and fireworks.  

Max is super excited so he is blurry.

Happy fourth of JULY!!

Summer!

  Saturday the kids and I took the day and went shopping and out to lunch.   Kendall had to help with a project at girl's camp so we had the day to ourselves.  

We hit Ross and every body bought a shirt.  Except Max.  He didn't care.  

After shopping we went to McDonalds and played in the play place and had lunch. 

Here are some moments where they actually came back to eat, instead of play.

When Kendall got home we went to Grandma's house for dinner and fireworks.  

Max pushed Preslee around and she didn't like it.

Pretty Madeline with her glasses not on her face.   She prefers them to be a shirt accessory rather than a device to help her see.  I get so frustrated with her.  I think she has worn her glasses a total of 5 times the whole summer.  

Max thought the fireworks were awesome and would make sure to stand by Uncle Derek the whole time.  He loves his Uncle Derek.  

Summer fun!

We went swimming with Uncle Derek and Aunt Stephanie last week.  We had a great time and Max is not afraid of the water at all.  He had a ball!  Madeline invited her friend for the day and they practiced their swimming skills.  After swimming we took Derek and Steph out for sushi.   Good times!

Painted Nails

Madeline and I were painting our nails and of course Max wanted to join in.  You can't tell a two year old " no you can't have your nails painted because you're a boy".  So we just painted his nails and he loved it.  I figured he plays so rough and dirty that it wouldn't stay on long.
