New hat and Salsa!

We went shopping while we were in Utah and Madeline wanted this hat.  She looked so darn cute that we bought it for her.   Well she won't wear it in public.   So on Saturday we were going to her primary activity and I told her that if she wore it I would give her a dollar.  I know, I know bribery isn't something I should start doing but the girl needs to start wearing some of the stuff she owns so I had to do something.  She agreed and I left her with her dad.  While she was with him she renegotiated.  When we got in the car she had convinced him to give her $5  and she would only wear it to the activity not during the activity.    Who is in charge here?   Well she didn't get $5 ...  we bought a cheap toy at Walmart to appease her and she wore the hat most of the day.

We made salsa on Saturday and Kendall helped me!  He did the worst part and chopped all of the onions!!  What a great guy.  This is the first year I have canned by myself.  I usually have a friend or my mom around to help.    I love it... it makes me feel so self sufficient.

Utah Wedding

This weekend we went to Utah for my cousin Debby's wedding.  She was gorgeous!  The wedding was Saturday afternoon but we went down on Friday.  Friday night we went to this awesome restaurant called The Mayan.  SO COOL!  They have a dinner show with cliff divers.
We also got to see Kendall's brother Kevin and his wife Angie.  It was so fun to see them and we had a good time hanging out with them for the evening.    Saturday we went to Payson for the wedding and it was fun to see my family.  Here are some pictures of some of the trip.
My cousin Shanna, sister Sarah, Debby, sister Anna, and Madeline.
Madeline was the last minute flower girl when the original flower girl got scared.

Melissa's Pictures

My friend Melissa asked me to take some pictures for her family  and she hasn't been able to look at them yet.  So since her email is down we had to post them on the blog.

Approved!

We have received the phone call and we are officially approved to adopt!
We are working on our online profile and it should be up and running soon. We are still trying to get pregnant and have had a few tests done to make sure we are in working order. Everything has checked out okay, so we will try both and see which way the Lord decides to send our next child. It has been interesting to say the least!

More of the Fair

I had to post these pictures because they are hilarious.   Kendall lost the coin toss and was the one who got to ride the rides with Madeline.  Actually he wanted to do it with her until he realized (too late) that he was too big.  The kangaroo ride was the funniest.  Madeline barely had enough room and I was cracking up the whole time.  She just kept looking at him like "move over you big lug you're hogging all the room.".
Don't let the smile on the kangaroo ride fool you.  She was pretty much glaring at him.

He is such a good dad, despite the fact that he was slightly embarrassed he went along with everything so Madeline would have a good time.  She loved it.

The Fair!

We decided to go and enjoy the fair this last Saturday because it looked like it would be the only warm day this whole week. I love the food at the fair and I always get the Indian Taco. Yumm! This was the first year I have had a funnel cake though. Kendall couldn't believe it. It was delicious.
Madeline enjoyed the rabbits pens and the chickens. She held her nose through the livestock exhibits.
It reminded me of when I did 4 H almost 14 years ago. I had a pig, her name was Raspberry and she made me realize that I wasn't all that interested in being a farm girl that raised pigs. They really stink and they kind of ruin your view on bacon.
But any way back to the fair.

Madeline convinced her dad to let her buy a unicorn. It was a build your own animal kind of thing. The girl gave her a star to put inside and told her to make a wish. She wished to be a mermaid. Can you tell we have been watching a lot of The Little Mermaid? Oh, and the unicorn's name is Ariel.
I love this picture of Madeline enjoying a tiger ear. Look at those greasy lips!
This picture took us about 6 different tries! We don't take pictures of ourselves very often.
