Kendall and I just got back from an amazing trip to Mexico to celebrate
our seventh anniversary!
It was so fun. The first night we just walked around Cancun and
enjoyed the city.
They had an amazing outdoor mall.
Kendall and I spent a few evenings there because it was so much fun.
They had a river that went through it so Kendall and I rented a paddle boat and
paddled around the mall.
They had performances at the mall, this one was Phantom of the Opera.
On Sunday we went to church and then we just laid out on the beach. The resort we
stayed at was awesome. The food was incredible and we could eat whenever we
wanted.
The beach had lost a lot of it's sand from the hurricane, so this boat was out taking
sand from the bottom of the ocean and putting it back on the beach.
On Monday we went to a Mayan village called Tulum.
The beach at Tulum was incredible! So beautiful.
This was a cenote, ( big cave with a pool of water ).
You could go swimming in it. The bottom was 150 feet down!
This was the day we went to Chichen Itza. They had an amazing buffet lunch and
a performance.
These guys were dancing with bottles on their heads and not once did they loose them.
This is Chichen Itza. A very huge Mayan city.
This is where they would play the ball game and then sacrifice the winners.
With the upper class
babies they would cross their eyes and flatten their head and put rocks in their teeth.
That was so people would know they were upper class just by looking at them.
The upper class were the most likely to get sacrificed. In the Mayan world
I think I would want to be a poor loser.
These columns went on forever!
An ancient game of tic tac toe!
We went Para Sailing on Thursday. It was so fun!
See that tiny speck in front?
That is another para sailer and they are a lot lower than we were.
Our tiny boat.
Notice my death grip. We were not strapped in to anything.
According to the guy running it "no straps, it is more fun that way!".
What are you kiddin me!?!
That night we went to 'New Moon', the day before everybody in the U.S.!!
And look nobody was there and it only cost us $3 each!
A little while later about 4 men walked in. ;-)
This was our last day and we went to Xcaret.
They had an underground river you could go snorkeling in.
Snorkeling completely freaked me out!
So I just floated.
This was the coolest Mexican cemetery. They had little houses on top of the graves.
This was the big show at Xcaret.
They played a game of hockey with a fire ball.
Then they had performances from each part of Mexico. It was really neat.
On the way to the airport our travel company picked us up in a limo.
The driver could tell we were pretty darn excited so he offered to take a picture!
