Donut recipe

Here is the donut recipe for those that want it. It made about 3 cookie sheets full.
Next time I would half the recipe.

Potato Donuts

3T yeast
1/2 cup cold water
3/4 cup sugar
4 eggs
 2 c. mashed potatoes
1 cup shortening or oil
1 qt. milk
1 T. salt
12-14 cups of flour

In a small bowl dissolve the yeast in the cold water. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl combine the eggs, sugar, shortening/oil, salt, mashed potatoes, and milk. Add yeast mixture. Add flour. Mix. Let raise about 1 hour. Roll to approximately 1/2 in thick. Place on wax paper with flour on it for easy removal. Fry in 1/2 inch to 1 inch oil, 350 degrees until golden brown. Top with glaze.

Glaze:
2lbs powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter
boiling water
Mix in enough boiling water until glaze is at desired consistency.

I just rolled mine in powdered sugar, and then frosted chocolate cake frosting on the others.
