8 months old

Mister Max,

You are 8 months old.  I can't believe how fast the time has flown.  Here are some of the things you are doing now.

Just this week you figured out how to crawl!!  You are still getting the hang of it, and sometimes it is a cross between an army crawl and a real crawl.  You still prefer to roll around though.

You love big people food.  You eat baby food but you don't enjoy it.  You really enjoy feeding your self.

You still make that goat noise that you made from day one.  You are doing it a lot more frequently too!  In fact today when Dad called you answered it with a goat noise every time.

You love to snuggle into who ever is holding you and you love to tease who ever is not holding you.

You love to suck on your lower lip, and now it is always chapped.

You are still very bald, but everybody loves to rub your head because it is so soft.

You love your big sister and you will shake all over when she is playing with you because you get so excited.

You are starting to respond to sign language by using the bottle sign.  I am not sure you are understanding exactly what you are doing though because right now you use it on everything, including bottle.

When you wake up you coo and talk before you get upset.  It is fun to listen to you talk to yourself.

You love to feel things.  You will rub things and  your favorite thing to do is scratch things. 

Your new word is nana, which Madeline swears must be her name.  You can also say dada really well.  I swear I heard you say mama once. 

You have a new scream that you like to use for fun.  You love the sound of your own voice.

You LOVE your walker.  You will chase us all over the kitchen in it, running over our toes or heels.  You are so very helpful in it when I am mopping the floor.  

You love Grandma's kisses but will push her away when you have had enough.  

When it is time to go to bed you roll all over my bed until you are too tired and finally fall asleep.  

The other night at bedtime, I was reading a book and you wanted my book so badly that I gave you another book to keep you occupied.  You love to flutter the pages and you did that until the very moment you fell asleep.

Everybody just loves you... there is something pretty special about you and people are drawn to you.  We are so lucky to be your parents.
